Violet Festival Pics…

We took the kids to the Violet Festival in Olde Towne Pickerington tonight.  It’s kind of like the carnivals that I grew up with in Maryland.

Addison and Brayden seemed to have a good time.  Check out the pics below…

Here is Addy rockin’ the airplane ride!!!

Addy absolutely loved the little roller coaster!!!

Now there is a boy who just loves being outdoors (check out the hair)

Now if I must say so, those are some good looking kids!!!

Robber turned rapper in McDonald’s jingle contest

You have to see this clip.  This guy, Tamien Bain aka the Locksmith,  went to prison for 12 years after holding up a McDonalds restaurant.  And when he got out, he almost won a contest to write a McDonald’s jingle.  I watched the interview and he seems to understand the mistake he made and is trying to give back to society.

I think that is pretty commendable…

Am I a Moses?

When you think of Moses, what comes to mind?  Burning Bush, Parting the Red Sea, “Pharoah, Pharoah, oh baby let my people go…”, Rock Water…yea so did I.

But I’ve been going through Moses’ life with a few guys from my youth group, and my view of Moses has been changing (It will probably change a few more times during this study).  I mean look at the burning bush story:  Moses sees the burning bush, has an encounter with the living God, God tells Moses what he wants him to do, and Moses makes an excuse why he can’t 5 different times (don’t believe me?  Check out exodus 3-4).

Yet, Moses still did what God wanted him to do.  So it makes me ask myself, Am I a Moses?  First am I doing what God wants me to do?  If so, do I complain to God and make excuses why it won’t work.  What’s funny is God had an answer for everyone on Moses’ complaints (seriously, do you think it was a chance encounter that Aaron was walking to meet Moses at the exact time that Moses complained about being a poor public speaker? If so you need to get your head checked…). Why didn’t he just trust God to work it out…and why don’t I sometimes?

So take a minute and ask yourself, “Are you a Moses?”

It’s Bath Time…

A couple of things you need to know about Brayden:
1. He turned 6 months old yesterday
2. He has been sitting up for the last 3 weeks or so
3. He absolutely loves bath time.  Now that he can sit up by himself, he is really rockin’ bath time!!!

Check it out…

Check out the little stud…you think he is enjoying it?

And this is why obesity is an issue…

Some kids in Greenwich, Connecticut built a Wiffleball field on an abandoned lot owned by the county, made it look a little like the Green monster in Fenway, and now lawyers are involved because they built it on public property, didn’t have a permit, and neighbors are complaining….

Does anybody remember the movie “The Sandlot”.  I mean, come on let the kids play.  I love what the one kids says:
“They think we’re a cult,” said Jeff Currivan, 17. “People think we should be home playing ‘Grand Theft Auto.’ ”

Now they may have to tear it down…seriously?
just another reason that we have so many chunky kids in this country….

I’m so far behind on my posting it’s not funny, so here’s a video

I am so far behind on things I have wanted to post that it is sad.  I don’t know where to begin, but I’ll figure it out.

In the meantime, here is a video to tide you over. If you haven’t seen this yet it’s awesome!  This group call Improve Anywhere (or something like that) sent 10 sets of twins on the subways in New york.  And they performed what is called the “human mirror”.  One twin would mirror the others actions- they dressed the same, did the same things- and it apparently played a little mind game on some passengers.  Click here to see the video

Kickin’ it Old School

No, I did not fall off the face of the earth! No I did not break both hands simultaneously and could not type for two weeks!  No I did not go on a computer fast and give it up for a while!  It’s been crazy.

We bought a house and I’ve been moving stuff in.  Then last week I was in Huntsville, Alabama for our World Changers mission trip (which was awesome…I’ll post later) and had no access to wifi, internet, tv or anything…

But I’m back now and ready to rock!!!
