Cashiers should get paid by the item!

You’ve been there.  Every line at the grocery store is backed up.  So you pick one and it always turns out to be the absolute slowest lane.  This happened to me the other day.  Apparently the lady working the register wanted to get to know every one of her “clients” personally, so she made sure that she had the right amount of time.  It took me longer to stand in line than it did to grab my 10 items.  The last time I stood in line this long I got to ride a roller coaster at the end!

I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs, “SHUT UP AND SCAN!!!” (but I didn’t)

So here is what I propose: Every cashier should get paid not by the hour, but by the amount of products they scan.  When I worked in a grocery store warehouse (where we unloaded trucks all day), we got paid by the truckload.  Not by the hour!  And you know what, we worked faster.  So I think that would speed the lines up at Walmart, Kroger, wherever!

I think I’ll go write my congressman about it…

My daughter is growing up…and I don’t know how to handle it

I know I have posted a lot of videos lately, and I apologize. I don’t want my blog to become just a bunch of videos.

That being said, I want to share these vids with ya.  Let me explain before you watch them.  For her birthday this year, Addison got a session at  a kids gym. So she gets ten weeks with a class of about 6-7 kids her age where they have a teacher and all that.  She will learn some tumbling stuff, some teamwork, etc.  and basically have a good time playing on some cool gymnastic/playground type of equipment.

Today was her first session.  So I went to the free play afterwards and shot a few videos with my cell phone.  I hope you enjoy (There all like 15 seconds because that is all my cell will let me take at one time.)

American Idol vs. Canadian Idol

I hate posting two videos in a row, but you have to see this!  This girl tries out for Canadian Idol (Canada’s version of American idol) and rips a giant fart as she prepares to sing.

I wonder if she made it.  She did have two needed qualities- she was on pitch and she was memorable! I don’t think the judges will ever forget that!
